JW LensLab: Rental Terms & Conditions
1. Rental Period & Late Returns
The rental begins at the scheduled pickup time and ends at the scheduled return time.
- Late Fees: Gear returned after the scheduled time will incur a late fee equal to 50% of the daily rate for every 2 hours delayed.
- Extensions: If you need more time, you must request an extension via email at least 4 hours before your return time.
2. Security Deposit & Payments
We use a pre-authorization (temporary hold) on your credit card for all rentals.
- The Hold: This hold is placed 24 hours prior to pickup.
- Release: The hold is released within 48 hours of return, pending a full inspection of the equipment.
- Full Payment: The total rental fee is due at the time of booking to secure your dates.
3. Equipment Condition & Damage
You are receiving professional-grade equipment in peak working condition.
- Inspection: It is your responsibility to inspect the gear at pickup. Any existing damage must be noted immediately.
- Liability: You are responsible for 100% of the repair or replacement cost for any damage, loss, or theft that occurs during your rental period.
- Cleaning Fee: Gear returned with excessive dirt, sand, or sensor smudges will incur a $50 cleaning fee.
4. Cancellation Policy
We understand that production schedules change.
- 72+ Hours Notice: Full refund or store credit.
- 24–72 Hours Notice: 50% refund or full store credit.
- Less than 24 Hours: No refund will be issued.
5. Verification & Identification
To prevent fraud and protect our community:
- A valid government-issued ID matching the name on the credit card used for payment must be presented at pickup.
- We reserve the right to cancel any booking if identity cannot be verified.
